Hi, I'm Jas. (Yes, pronounced just like the music.)

I call Atlantic Canada home, where my days revolve around long walks with my dogs, jotting down ideas, maintaining a 180-year-old house, and running my own business.

Some days, I’d rather be stacking wood.

I grew up during the internet's optimistic early days of the late 90s and 2000s. I was drawn to UX design believing it could solve meaningful problems about how we live and work.

Twenty years later, I've gained perspective—some might call it realism.

With a background in systems design engineering, I've built a career spanning UX design, Microsoft 365 consulting, change management, education, and continuous learning. My driving purpose is helping people find stability and fulfillment in their work lives. Since we spend most of our waking hours working, I constantly ask: are we doing it right?

My mind naturally connects dots between organizational design, psychology, history, economics, and technology. This blog is where I attempt to make sense of these intersections.

Here, I share my thoughts on work—why we do it and how it can be better. You'll find writings about technology, human behavior, design principles, managing change, and AI developments, with occasional notes on TV shows when all that gets overwhelming.

If that wasn't what you were looking for, let’s look at my pups instead:

Dogs are simply the best.
